Memorial for Sherri Norton w/New Video Homage
It is with Great Joy that I announce that my Lovely Bride of almost 14 years Sherri Lynn Schroeder-Norton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at approx. 6:30 PM Sunday (the Lord’s Day) November 6, 2011.
Sherri was my best friend and the Love of My Life. I already miss her tremendously, but I know she is no longer suffering and that she is in the Lord’s presence.
[Updated 11/07 – Memorial Service Details]
I’ve set up the Memorial Service for this Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm, rain or shine:
The Celebration of Sherri’s Life
North Hills Church 3100 East Birch Street Brea, CA 92821 http://www.northhillschurch.us/Please RSVP by emailing Dave Long so we know how much food to order.
I would like for this Saturday’s (Nov 12 Nov 19) Canyon Velo Ride to be Sherri’s Memorial Ride. [Updated 11/08] Due to rain, Sherri’s Memorial Ride has been postponed until Saturday, November 19. It starts at 7:30 AM from the parking lot of the convenience store/gas station just south of Lincoln (at the 55 freeway) on Santa Ana Canyon Road. Some people might want to park in the Ralph’s shopping center in Villa Park (the ride will pass by here within the first 1-2 miles of the start) as we will finish the ride there and stop for coffee at Bagel Me. This will be the medium route going up Irvine Blvd. and then turning left at El Toro. We will regroup at the top of Cooks Corner. Please feel free to join us at any point along the route. We will not be stopping anywhere near the scene of the accident, as I don’t want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless You All and thank you for the outpouring of support. I have always known how much you all have loved my wife, and the last four days have just reinforced that.
In lieu of flowers (Sherri didn’t want flowers just bike parts) please give in Sherri’s name to one of the following:
- We have supported an orphanage in Moldova (Eastern Europe) for 12 years. They are in need of money for fuel for the winter. Donations can be made out to:
Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720Write in the memo box of the check “Moldovan Orphanage”
- Operation Christmas Child ( Download Operation Christmas Child Flyer – 1.3M) by Samaritan’s Purse sends a shoe box filled with Christmas gifts for children around the world from ages 2-14 years old. You can either use your own box or there will be ones available at the Church for the Memorial Service that you can use. The Church where we are holding the Memorial Service is a regional collection center for the boxes so you can leave them there on Saturday or drop them off Nov. 14-20 at the church. If you would like to just bring the fillings for the boxes at the Memorial Service, you can then just put them in a shoe box at the Church. Please include a note to the child wishing them a Merry Christmas and telling them this is a gift for them on behalf of Sherri Norton. Please don’t mention “in Memory of” as I don’t want them to know that anyone died (except Jesus Christ for their sins).
With God’s Love
Mark Norton
