March Team Ride Sat, March 18, 2023
Special Memorial Ride
I’m sure everyone has heard about the horrific bike incident that happened on PCH a few weeks back involving Dr. Mammone. I would like to incorporate the below memorial ride on March 18th as our team ride.Note that the starting location for this ride will be the MISSION VIEJO Rock N Road Location (see location at bottom of page).
This ride is open to all, members and non-members alike. Non-members, we’d love to have you join us! Members, feel free to bring along a buddy or two.
Date: Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Start Time: 9:00 am (Rollout at 9:30 am)
Meet at 9:00 am at RnR, Mission Viejo, pick up your armband, and leave in time to be at Mission Hospital by 10:30am. This is a “stop and go” to participate in the memorial and then continue on our scheduled route for the day.
Start Location: Rock-n-Road Cyclery in Mission Viejo
Mileage: Approx 58 mi total.
Route Description: Beginning at Mission Viejo RnR, head south on Marguerite Pkwy, arriving ~10:30am at Leonard Cancer Institute at Mission Hospital, 27700 Medical Center Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92691. After the break, the ride will go through Ladera Ranch, Dana Point, and head back north along PCH and back inland through Irvine.

Pace: Spirited, but no-drop rule and regrouping.
As always, member and non-members are welcome. No bickering, arguing, finger pointing or shenanigans or you’ll have me to deal with!
Let’s show our support for a cycling doctor who dedicated his life to serving others and got caught up in a horrific situation. The team will make a small donation and members can donate directly.
Note that this is not a supported ride, so please come prepared with all you need to finish.
