Earth Day Trail Work – Saturday April 16th
Cycles Veloce club members are encouraged to join the SHARE Mountain Bike Club on Saturday, April 16th for a trail work day at Crystal Cove State Park.
Dan Belling will be heading up the Cycles Veloce contingent. He will be meeting the ranger and SHARE volunteer leader at 8:30 a.m. at the Los Trancos Ranger Station (located north of El Moro on PCH between Crystal Cove Promenade and Newport Coast on the inland side) to sign waivers, pick up tools, and listen to a short safety/work description talk before heading out.
Club members can meet there at 8:30 a.m., or at Deer Canyon campground around 9:00 a.m. Not sure how long the work shift will be, but there will be lunch provided by the park afterwards back down at Los Trancos. There will be water and Clif Bars for us at Deer Canyon.
For those with kids at CDM, this will qualify for Community Service hours.
If anyone wants to pre-ride, Dan was thinking of heading in around 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. from the top – yes, he will be a “drive-upper.”
