Cyclocross Race Report – 11/17/13
El Dorado Park (Long Beach, CA) – Cycles Veloce/Team Simple Green was out in full force on Sunday November 17, 2013 at the Cyclocross Race at El Dorado Park. “My bike is so clean thanks to Simple Green!” said one racer. Another was grateful he didn’t have to spend his evening cleaning his bike like usual. Thanks to Troy Gielish, Bob Kubinski, Andrew Penksaw, Jeff Sanford, Dave Long, Cameron Phillips, and Fiona Peterson over 45 bikes were washed with Simple Green bike wash product. There were over 232 racers at this event and all fastest lap winners were rewarded with a bike cleaning kit graciously donated by Simple Green. Participants from Team Simple Green included the Sanchez family, Jeff Sanford, and Troy Gielish.
The Team wants to continue to be an active participant in the local racing community. It’s important to showcase our team and sponsors to the community. Cyclocross is rapidly becoming a popular cycling discipline as it can be done in many urban areas without needing a long racecourse to be closed to traffic for the event. Racing requires strength and speed as well as more technical bike handling skills. It’s just as tough as road racing but less prone to crashing. There are still many Cyclocross races in the SoCal area left this season. Put on your Team Simple Green jersey and hit the course for a day of fun!
